Well It has been a couple of months since I last posted and it's been really crazy around here. So it is my goal today to update all of our happenings. Just scroll down from here and you'll see all that has been going on. I wanted to keep up the dates so I would remember them for the future.
So to get started I just returned home about 2 weeks ago from an emergency trip to California. I got a call on Friday morning July 9
th from my mom saying she was taking my dad to the ER with chest pain. So I was really worried of course. Then I got a call saying that he would stay overnight and have a stress test Saturday morning. Well on Friday night he had chest pain again so they drew some blood and his cardiac enzymes were elevated so the stress test was canceled and they decided to do an
angiogram on Monday morning. So Saturday at 10 pm I flew out to s
ee my family. My dad kept telling me he was fine but I needed to be there. So Monday morning came and they took him down to
cath lab. After about an hour and a half my mom came back up and told my
sister and I that my dad had to have open heart surgery with 5
vessel bypass grafts. I fell apart. All of us kids were there minus Dave and my kiddos. I can be strong when it comes to my kids and husband, but when it comes to my parents and siblings I have a very hard time. So Tuesday morning they took him in for his surgery. It was about 5 1/2 hours until they told us everything went well but they couldn't bypass one of the
vessel's but that it would be
ok. So we got to watch them wheel him by us back into the ICU and from then on we got to see him just for a couple minutes for that first night. That was very difficult to see. He came around though and was discharged from the hospital that Sunday morning. I flew home Saturday night and he's been doing great ever since. I am very grateful for my family and all they do for me and am so blessed to be part of such a close nit family.
